i am what i don't know

if they send the wolves, i'll join the wolves and i'll return
some day with my teeth sharper and my blood hotter. i'll be the dog by your grave with a hanging tongue and a ribcage and a chewed-up tail, howling with my last exhale. an army of lovers cannot fail.

Forgot to add this to the other post, but: I’m Muslim. If that bothers you, go ahead and do whatever makes you comfortable (i.e. unfollow me, not send me hate mail, thank you very much).

It’s not the fact that it’s a mosque,

enigmainataco:

wendigo:

it’s the fact that they want to build it right the fuck there next to ground zero. If it was anywhere else in new york, fine. This country is built on the right to practice your own religion, and the right to practice freedom of speech. This country is a melting pot. People should be able to worship what they want, but the fact that it’s right there where the towers went down, THAT’S THE ISSUE, not that they’re building the fucking mosque in the first place. That part of new york isn’t even populated with the majority of the Muslims that live there. In fact, Muslims would have to take two trains and a cab to get to this place. All they want is a symbol how ‘they got us this time’. It was a surprise attack and this is our country. Move it somewhere else. Not right there next to the fucking place. It wouldn’t be any different if they wanted to build a Japanese monument next to the Pearl Harbor attack site. Americans would be just as furious as we are right now. I know some people are saying ‘fuck it, don’t built it anywhere,’ but that’s missing the issue. If they want to build a mosque, they reserve the right to, they just don’t have the right to build it two blocks from ground zero.

just saying.

I can understand a Japanese monument not being at Pearl Harbor - it’s a monument. It implies victory. It implies that something great happened at that point. Calling a cultural center (and that’s what it is - there’s a mosque inside it, and that means, a big room where you stand a pray) a monument? Not something I can get behind.

If the only issue is that it’s near the site, my question is, what if there was a YMCA at that place? A Jewish cultural center? Christian? I mean, if it’s the area, nothing should be built there right? So can I build a mall? Would that be okay? Because if it would, if the reasoning is that Muslims caused 9/11 and therefore should not, specifically, be allowed to build at that spot, then I think you need to take a small step back and stop bunching every single Muslim on the planet together with those terrorists who blatantly went against Islam and took so many innocent lives.

Trauma and pain are not things that just go away; I remember 9/11. Yes, I’m Muslim. Yes, there were Muslims who lost their lives on that plane (and I’m not talking about the hijackers). But that’s not why I think it was a tragedy. It was a tragedy because people were killed. I don’t care who they were; they didn’t deserve to die.

But you know, as a Muslim, what I’m worried about? What kind of shit Muslim worshipers would get if they did build the cultural center. I mean, yippee Mr. Feisal Abdul Rauf, you’re getting what you want. But at the end of the day, for all your stubbornness, is it even going to be safe for us over there? Muslims use the area to pray already (yep, they do - prayer services have been taking place since 2009), so maybe it would be saner to leave well-enough alone? Isn’t all this hub-bub just drawing unneeded attention? Plus, there are already two mosques nearby-ish (one four blocks from ground zero - this one would be two blocks away - and the other twelve blocks away). Unless, you know, people want those ripped down or something. How much different is two blocks from four, anyway?

Being absolutely serious here: I’m not sure why you’d want to build at that location. After so much controversy, I probably would have given up. Keep the area as it is. Muslims would still be praying there anyway. No need to worry anyone.

Happy Ramadan!

ASSUMING ‘THE MAJORITY’ OF ANY COUNTRY IS STUPID/INTELLIGENT/RUDE/COWARDLY/ETC.

THERE’S THIS GREAT THING CALLED DIVERSITY AND THIS OTHER GREAT THING CALLED TOLERANCE

UNTIL YOU MEET ‘THE MAJORITY’ OF PEOPLE IN A COUNTRY

YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO JUDGE ‘THE MAJORITY’

NOW I KNOW PEOPLE TEND TO JUDGE PLACES ON THEIR OWN EXPERIENCE OR THAT OF OTHERS

BUT YOU GOT TO GOT TO GOT TO TRY A LITTLE TENDERRRNESSSSS

JUST SAYIN’

 THANK YOU.
